Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Retail & Logistics Associate to support daily store operations while overseeing U-Haul fleet coordination and equipment readiness. This role blends customer service, inventory control, and light fleet management responsibilities. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, and comfortable balancing front-end customer interactions with operational and logistical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous retail, logistics, or rental service experience preferred

  • Comfortable working outdoors at times in varying weather conditions

  • Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy setting

  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred

Responsibilities

Retail Operations

  • Provide friendly, professional customer service in person and over the phone

  • Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems

  • Assist customers with product selection, rentals, and general inquiries

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor

  • Support merchandising, restocking, and inventory counts

  • Handle opening and closing procedures

Logistics & Inventory

  • Receive, check in, and organize incoming shipments

  • Track inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies

  • Prepare and stage products and equipment for customer pickup

  • Maintain storage areas and ensure safe handling of merchandise

  • Coordinate movement of equipment and supplies between locations if needed

U-Haul Fleet Management

  • Check U-Haul vehicles in and out according to company procedures Inspect vehicles and equipment for cleanliness, damage, and fuel levels

  • Document and report maintenance or repair needs

  • Ensure rental contracts are completed accurately

  • Assist customers with rental equipment hookup basics (trailers, dollies, etc.)

  • Monitor fleet availability and update systems accordingly

  • Maintain lot organization and vehicle positioning
